These 2 Liverpool players have a real point to prove during the international break – agreed?

Jurgen Klopp has really assembled a proper squad at Liverpool and they look to be ready to challenge on all fronts this reason.

The deadline day signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal complemented the earlier summer signing of Mo Salah. In addition, by keeping Barcelona’s paws off Phil Coutinho has meant that Liverpool have had a strong transfer window.

Furthermore, the Red men have looked sensational in attack this season and with the dismantling of Arsenal being fresh in everyone’s mind going into the international break but there are still many names being touted in the Tavern as players who need to prove a point to Klopp whilst away with their countries.

It is a discussion that has really caught the attention of the Liverpool fans in the Tavern and there is many a player within the Reds’ squad that it is felt that they need to prove a point during this break.

Some interesting names have been thrown into the mix with many of the Anfield faithful feeling that Klopp needs assurance that his defence can back up his strong attack as he looks to compete domestically and abroad this season.

With the discussion at an end, let’s take a look at the two Liverpool players that have a real point to prove during the international break.

Let’s take a look here…

Daniel Sturridge

Despite finding the net against Arsenal in the last game before the international break, the Reds in the Tavern still feel Klopp isn’t so sure about Sturridge leading his line.

Whilst the fans love him, our landlord has noted that if Sturridge can have a positive international break with England, then he may well find himself starting a few more games due to his obvious goal threat.

Simon Mignolet

The jury is still out over whether or not Mingolet was dropped for the Reds’ last game before the international break but our landlord feels that, if Mingolet can manage to break into the Belgium team over the international break, then Klopp will be more convinced over the goalkeeper’s place in his side.

Mingolet has been under scrutiny for a long time whilst he’s been at Anfield and our landlord believes it is time for the Belgium international to put any doubts to bed.
