These 2 Man United players simply must follow Matteo Darmian out if he leaves

Share

Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping a few players are shipped out this summer as they look to mount a serious title challenge.

Jose Mourinho must overhaul the squad this year, with a plethora of fresh faces coming in over the course of recent windows. The Red Devils are starting to take shape in Mourinho’s mould, and with that, some of the old faces must start to make way in order to streamline the currently fairly bloated squad.

One name that the regulars in the bar thought would have gone a long time ago is Matteo Darmian, who looks like he’s finally on his way out of Old Trafford according to reports.

The Louis van Gaal signing hasn’t made the biggest impact at United in his time there, and game time for the Italian has declined drastically this season. With a possible move to Juventus on the horizon, our landlord takes a look at two other possible players to follow him…

Sergio Romero

The excellent backup keeper has been a brilliant servant to the Red Devils, despite largely playing second fiddle to the best in the world on current form. With that in mind, it’s only a matter of time before the Argentine No.1 will have the thirst for regular first-team minutes, as playing in the odd cup game surely won’t be enough.

It’ll be hard to replace Romero, who is such a good keeper but his ambitions may lead him out of the Old Trafford door.

Daley Blind

The Dutchman is currently out injured, which may mean the end of his United career as Mourinho seems to have settled on a starting eleven in recent weeks. Blind was another one of van Gaal’s signings and many in the bar remember him being the saving grace in the centre of the park when he arrived, though he hasn’t kicked on as hoped.

Indeed, he hasn’t kicked on from there and is no seen as more of a utility man in and around the back four.
