Whilst the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few incoming players over the next few weeks, they could also witness a couple of departures…

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been going well in the Premier League, and whilst the Reds in the Tavern have been impressed with the German’s managerial style, there have been some significant changes at Anfield during his tenure so far.

Perhaps the most notable of these is Klopp’s team selection, with a number of players that a few years ago were absolutely vital – now several of them rarely feature.

As a result of this, the Liverpool fans in attendance are expecting to see a few players leave the club in search of more football – and that could open the door to a few new faces thereafter.

One such name that has been linked with a move away is Tiago Ilori, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that he is set to move to Reading – but could anyone else leave over the next few weeks?

Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva has seen his game time reduce significantly under Klopp, and it appears likely that he will leave the club over the coming weeks.

A move to Milan is looking increasingly likely, and having made just 3 Premier League starts – a move away would certainly be best for his career.

At 29-years-old, Leiva is still in his prime – and so sitting on the bench would certainly do him no good.

Daniel Sturridge

It has been quite the fall from grace for Daniel Sturridge.

A few years ago, the Englishman was one of the most feared strikers in Europe – but that is no longer the case.

Injuries have really caught up with Sturridge, and whilst he used to be a regular for the both Chelsea and Liverpool, his game time has reduced significantly under Jurgen Klopp.

The German rates consistency and availability over anything else – and Sturridge is simply not in that mould.

Nonetheless, a player of his quality could fetch a decent fee and should be expecting to always play when available – so a sale does make sense.
