In stark contrast to goings on at Celtic Park this season, it’s been a relatively frustrating go of things for the Rangers fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern. 

The Gers have by no means had a crisis campaign during their first season back in the top-flight, though trail their bitter rivals by over 30 points and saw manager Mark Warburton depart. While that is unlikely to cause many tears at Ibrox, the former Brentford coach may not have been the root of the problems currently dogging the Gers.

Many of players have failed to perform to the highest level this term and those who’ve arrived over the last couple of transfer windows have struggled to wholly convince. Many of the drinkers in the bar believe Kenny Miller to be their best player this season, which probably tells you all you need to know.

With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO of Rangers’ weakest links this season.

Rob Kiernan

Rob Kiernan has looked entirely bereft of confidence for the last few months, leading to his dropping following the infamous 4-1 loss to Hearts at Tynecastle earlier this month.

Targeted by a section of supporters during their game against Ross County, the 26-year-old has looked shaky for months now. Needs to get his act together and cut out the rookie mistakes that have so far defined his campaign.

Philippe Senderos

It doesn’t get much better in central defence for the Gers.

Senderos has been a complete disaster this season and will surely not be kept on over the course of the summer, despite the fact he was signed as a relatively big name upon their promotion. Central defence is a huge issue for the Gers to sort out, with the Swiss’ lackadaisical performances not helping in the slightest.
