These 2 players should follow Lucas Moura to Tottenham this week if he joins

Our Tottenham fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see a rare sight, that of a new signing in the January window under Mauricio Pochettino.

Over his time at Spurs, Pochettino hasn’t signed a new player in the January window, and many of our regulars think that this is the main reason why they always seem to slow down near the end of the season. However, this winter, things look like changing with the latest links and reports to Lucas Moura from PSG potentially incoming to the squad.

The winger has had limited chances at the French side this season and has been desperate for a move away in order to find more regular football. Pochettino may be looking at strengthening his squad this January with the fight for Champions League places heating up and it looking like it’s six teams in the top four places.

Our landlord takes a look at two potential players to follow Moura in if Spurs get it over the line…

The Ajax prodigy is having an outstanding season this season in the Dutch league. Having recently joined Ajax from Sao Paulo, the Brazilian has found the net eight times and assisted his teammates on nine occasions this season in his 21 appearances so far.

He’s young and pacey, alongside the fact he plays on the right-hand side too, this could open up a completely different looking Spurs team to the one our regulars in the bar currently watch.

One of Tottenham’s major problems over the last few years has been their lack of depth behind Harry Kane. Indeed, bringing a player able to cover and compete with the England international might be a difficult task, though a transformative signing, if those behind the scenes in north London get it right.

To that end, they should consider a move for Atletico Madrid star, Kevin Gamerio. The Frenchman is out of the picture in the Spanish capital and would be a wonderful option to supplement Kane, offering pace and potency off the bench.
