Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited to see how Jurgen Klopp is going to change the side further into potential Premier League title contenders.
Klopp, in the summer, would be wise to start bringing some strength in depth to his squad, if he’s going to be serious about trophy hunting under his tenure, so thinks our barman. Having already agreed to bring in Naby Keita from RB Leipzig this summer, the Reds are looking for a double swoop and bring his teammate, centre-forward Timo Werner along with him.
Klopp seems to be in pole position, but as always he faces tough competition from around Europe for the striker, who is only 22 years of age. However, the Bundesliga star has 17 goals in 35 appearances to his name already so far this season and, seems to have a keen eye for goal.
Liverpool need a couple of players in the spine of the team according to our landlord, and with that in mind, he takes a look at which TWO other players could join the German star…
Jack Butland

Liverpool need a permanent goalkeeper between the sticks, and after this season’s chopping and changing it could be the difference maker to the whole team. Our Reds in the bar feel that a lot of the defensive issues this season have been down to the fact that there has not been a regular voice behind the back line.
That instils a little nervousness, which in turn reverberates throughout the team. With all his Premier League experience, Buland would be a smart move for Klopp.
Toby Alderweireld

Another player with bags of experience in the Premier league is Belgian defender and currently out of favour star, Toby Alderweireld. The colossal centre-back could link up with Virgil Van Dijk at the back to make one of the best defensive partnerships around, potentially leading the Reds to a title.
Alderweireld could be on the cheap also with Tottenham looking to possibly offload him as soon as possible. However, Liverpool would face some tough competition from around the leagues for his signature.
