Rangers aren’t in the strongest position having lost to Dundee last weekend and concerns are growing here in the Transfer Tavern that the team could be about to capitulate outright.
After battling their way back to the Scottish Premier League, the Gers have been hit by the departure of Mark Warburton and with results proving hard to come by in recent weeks, things need to change sooner rather than later.
Our Gers punters here in the pub aren’t best pleased with the results that have been rolling in over the past month and if they are to secure European football in the near future, wins are going to be a necessity, even under interim management.
But one slight positive for the side is the crop of talented youngsters Gers currently have on their roster and their potential going forward.
So with that in mind, here’s two young Rangers stars that will be worth serious money in the years to come…
Billy Gilmour
Rangers midfielder Billy Gilmour is one of the club’s up-and-coming stars and he’s been turning in some fantastic performances for the U23’s in recent weeks.
He’s gained a mutlitude of support from around the country and has been excelling at youth level on the international stage too.
Whether the management change at Rangers will impact his long-term future at the club is yet to be seen but if his development continues in this stead, he’s certainly a player that could be worth a fair bit of money in the future.
David Bates
20-year-old defender David Bates joined the club from Raith Rovers in January and he’s another highly-rated young player who has been tipped for the first-team in years to come.
Whilst he’s still got a long way to go before he’s ready to challenge for the first-team, he’s another Ibrox youngster who has plenty of admirers within both the academy and outside the division.
If his development continues, he could be a future international star which again, if he is sold on, could mean a big pay-day for Rangers.
