Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern really feels that Tottenham are starting to finally turn up this season and reckons they look like they could contend, at the very least, for a top four spot.

But, with the two Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all in the mix there’s every chance that they could end up sorely disappointed at the end of the season.

Our landlord thinks, then, that they could bring in some players to help get them ahead of the rest and ensure Champions League football is on the menu next season.

Spurs had a poor last transfer window and brought in some players in the summer that haven’t lived up to the expectations that many had when they first arrived.

They need a stronger January, then, and so with that our landlord feels that these two Tottenham January targets may actually join the club…

Ross Barkley

The Everton man has had some critics this season and limited playing time.

However, he has talent for sure and due to the fact he’s had so much expectation since coming into the setup at Everton as a youngster it could be time for him to move on and show what he’s made of.

Recent reports in The Telegraph have suggested that a move could happen and we agree that it would be a deal suitable for Barkley to show what he can do.

Wilfried Zaha

The Crystal Palace man has been superb this season and could well earn himself a big move to White Hart Lane!

The last time he made a big move it didn’t work out when he joined Manchester United. He’s matured since then, though, and this move could bring him up to the next level and give him the European football he dreams of.
