West Ham made a great decision to appoint David Moyes as former boss Slaven Bilic’s successor back in November, as the club would later be lifted out of the dreaded relegation zone. Although, worrying times have now returned as the Hammers appear to be in a spot of bother, with a toxic environment at the London Stadium making it difficult to grind out results.

However, a number of players still need to improve on their performances from here on in until the end of the season, with the international break providing some much-needed rest for the Hammers. Indeed, Moyes will be hoping that his side can hit the ground running when the Premier League resumes, as a couple of first-team members still have a point to prove in the closing stages.

Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez was sensational during his time at Manchester United but has struggled to find his feet since returning to the Premier League, as arguably one of the biggest summer transfer window flops.

Indeed, the Mexican was brought to the London Stadium to provide goals at the pinnacle of the attack, but it’s been his lack of potency that’s caused all sorts of problems for the Hammers this season.

Therefore, the 29-year-old has a lot of thinking to do over the course of the international break, with a few world-class performances going a long way to securing a future in the top-flight.

Aaron Cresswell

Aaron Cresswell has had a season to forget in the claret and blue after receiving heaps of criticism throughout the campaign, with his lack of consistency and silly mistakes costing the side dearly.

Indeed, the Englishman has been developed into more of a central defender under David Moyes this season, but it doesn’t really seem to be benefiting the Hammers after conceding 11 goals in their last three games.

Therefore, Cresswell needs to work on improving his performances once the Premier League resumes, as West Ham United can’t afford to make a mistake from here on in until the end of the season.
