Crystal Palace fans in the Football Transfer Tavern were fearing the worst prior to Sam Allardyce’s arrival, that the Championship may make a worrying return to Selhurst Park.

Following the successful victories against Arsenal and Liverpool, supporters were expecting an easy run-in towards the final Premier League games of the campaign but recent form have buffered any hopes of that.

Three consecutive defeats for the Eagles means it is still mathematically possible for club to endure relegation, but they do face fellow strugglers Hull City next weekend which may be able to bring an easing environment around Selhurst Park.

Our Palace-mad bar man is confident that the three points are in the bag for the visit of the Tigers and it could be worth implementing some of the club’s rising talent into the first-team.

Here are TWO young stars that must be given a chance in the final matches of the 2016/17 season…..

Sullay Kaikai

The 21-year-old was initially shipped out on loan to Championship outfit Brentford last summer on a season-long deal, but the Eagles recalled the winger in the January transfer window, preferably to give him a chance in the senior squad.

Fans by the bar have become increasingly frustrated by his lack of chances in the last four months, with just one appearance in the top-flight for Crystal Palace.

Kaikai needs to be offered the opportunity by Sam Allardyce because talisman Wilfried Zaha may be on his way out, following the attacker’s impressive form of late, and this youngster could be the ideal replacement – gelling him in now will be good preparation for next season.

Luke Dreher

Luke Dreher is tipped to reach the very top by our landlord.

The 18-year-old won the Eagles’ under-18 Player of the Season in 2016 and was expected to break the barrier into competitive football this year, however, things haven’t quite turned out that way.

Here at the Football Transfer Tavern we expect Dreher to feature in the pre-season schedule at Selhurst Park, but the teenager should be presented with at least one Premier League game this campaign if they secure concrete safety at the weekend.
