These 3 additions will win Man United the title this season – Agreed?

The last few seasons have just not quite lived up to expectation for Man United fans. Starting with David Moyes, the disappointing results that just couldn’t live up to the Sir Alex Ferguson era which left the Red Devils fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern feeling low and frustrated.

Next we had Louis Van Gaal, and old school manager who had managed some of the biggest clubs in the world, but yet again despite his entertaining responses in press conferences, he never quite satisfied the Old Trafford faithful.

Its harsh to just blame the manager, the 2013 title winning squad in Fergie’s final year was hardly phenomenal. They won in 2013 due to a mix of tactical nous from the famous manager and rival clubs providing little competition, in what was a particularly poor year for the Premier League.

Despite winning the F.A Cup last year, fans were not left fulfilled and thus we saw the departure of Van Gaal. But hope has surged in the Red side of Manchester with the appointment of one the most successful bosses of all time, Jose Mourinho.

With the likes of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic signing, hope has been further rejuvenated. Even more so when it looks as though Paul Pogba’s arrival is only around the corner.

The United squad at this moment however does still not scream guaranteed winners.

Here are THREE additions that will win the Red Devils the title next season…

Leonardo Bonucci

Linked with Man United in recent weeks, the Juventus centre back would provide some needed experience to the back line at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has stated Jones and Smalling will be his first choice central defenders, which I think to any Red Devils fan is worrying.

Smalling was one of United’s best performers last season, but Jones has not been in the picture consistently for well over a year and has become a bit of a forgotten man at Old Trafford.

To truly cement their place as title challengers come the second half of the season, Mourinho is going to need a defender with maturity and who knows what it takes to win titles.

Julian Draxler

The Wolfsburg left winger is only 22-years-old, but could provide some real quality to Mourinho’s team next season.

With Ashley Young ageing, Januzaj out of the picture, and the disappointment of Depay, Man United could do with another winger.

The German international seems like one of the best choices on the market right now. He’s young, two footed, pacey, has a powerful shot and is versatile across the midfield.

Not even mentioning how experienced he is for his age. He’s already made 204 club appearances and been to two major international tournaments with Germany.

Stephan Lichtsteiner

Man United need to recruit in the full back department, with questions over Darmian’s future, and various other problematic situations with United’s full backs, they could do with a strong experienced leader who is reliable.

The 32-year-old is a top class, intelligent, physical right back who ticks every box that Mourinho looks for in a defender.

Despite being in the twilight part of his career, what comes with that is experience. He has made 508 club appearances, won 5 titles with Juventus, and has played for his country over 80 times.

Defence and experience are the Red Devils’ biggest weaknesses at the minute, and the Swiss defender would go a long way to solving those issues.

United fans, what do you make of these choices? Would you like to see these three at the Old Trafford next season? Let us know in the comments below…
