Do Not Sell My Personal Information

These 3 Liverpool players are definitely fighting for their future at the club – Agreed?

This summer represents Jurgen Klopp’s first real opportunity to reinvigorate his playing squad.

He has already started that process with a number of new signings, perhaps most notably in the multi-million pound acquisition of Sadio Mane.

However, our landlord thinks that whilst all of the attention is being placed on the incoming transfers; people are forgetting the importance of player departures.

Liverpool will have to sell some big names in order to facilitate any new signings; meaning some once-key players might be facing the exit door this summer.

With that, here are THREE Liverpool players that are fighting for their future…..

Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke’s future has seemingly been a foregone conclusion for a number of weeks now.

His signing has been nothing short of a disaster for Liverpool, with the club desperately trying to recoup some of the £32 million that they paid for the Belgian striker.

He does not fit Jurgen Klopp’s style of play at all, and has had to settle for a bit part role ever since he joined the club.

With a host of clubs linked; it might be too late for Benteke to prove himself at Liverpool. But if he wants to stay; this pre-season is his last chance.

Adam Bogdan

One of the more bizarre signings in recent windows.

Many of the Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern looked at this signing and asked why it was happening; and now a season down the line that question still needs answering.

A number of goalkeeping howlers have cost him any chance of gaining a first team spot at the club, and he seems destined to leave after new keeper Loris Karius was signed several weeks ago.

Maybe a good performance during pre season can help him out – but he seems destined to leave the club this summer.

Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva has been an excellent servant to Liverpool FC over the years; but it looks like he is surplus to requirements going into next year.

Whilst injuries have hampered his career in parts; he was always reliable when called upon and always did a job for Liverpool.

Now with Liverpool reportedly looking at other midfield options, Leiva could be on the move out of the club this month. The midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs abroad, and it seems likely that he will be offered out to each of them.

His service to the club means that he deserves one more chance to prove that he still retains the quality; but the writing seems on the wall with this one.
