Our Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern today have been looking at potential players that could see the Anfield exit door in January.

The January window is fast approaching and Liverpool are in desperate need of some defensive strengthening and Klopp may be looking to ship out fringe players to make room for new signings. Our regulars think the back line should be his number one priority, if the Reds are to mount a serious challenge for the top four places.

Liverpool aren’t doing too bad in the league at the moment, sitting in fifth and only three points off Chelsea in fourth. However, like most of our punters in here you feel that by tightening up the defence, Liverpool could be a real force, especially with their attacking options.

Our Landlord takes a look at the three players that could make Klopp’s decision a little easier in January by forcing a move through…

Danny Ings

Danny Ings is coming back from yet another injury and his Liverpool career hasn’t turned out exactly as he would have liked. The English striker still has to lot to offer with a fantastic goal to game ratio, so a move away should revive his career and give Klopp one less headache to fit into his attacking jigsaw.

On the periphery on the first-team, he really would benefit from a move away.

Lazar Markovic

The hugely expensive former Benfica man hasn’t impressed in his stint at Liverpool though while he was loaned out last year to Hull City, he showed he has the potential.

A mid-table Premier League club or high-flying Championship side may be more his level and he’ll be looking to get out of Anfield to get first-team minutes under his belt.

Jon Flanagan

The full-back is having a tough time of it at the moment, having come through the ranks at Liverpool, he now finds himself struggling for game time.

He was loaned out to Burnley last season where he played a handful of games, therefore a move away would be a good thing for Flanagan to start playing again as he’s only 24. Once involved in the England set-up, it’s time for the defender to try and get back on track.
