Manchester United’s recent transfer spending will live long in the memory here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

With the club trying to return to the top of the Premier League they’ve spent some serious amounts of cash on some of the world’s finest players.

Paul Pogba and Henrik Mkhitaryan came in this summer, commanding big fees whilst the likes of Eric Bailly also came in for a decent sum of money.

United fans argue that you need to spend that kind of money now to return to the top whilst others are more than happy to suggest that they have thrown away a lot of their cash recently.

Nevertheless, whatever your opinion, United seem to have a squad full of highly valued players, some of which you may be surprised at.

Wayne Rooney – £29.75m

Rooney’s recent plight has been well-documented but his value remains pretty high.

It’s a clear indication that despite his poor form it is only temporary and the fact that he is sitting on the bench a fair bit at the moment could just prove to be his chance to recharge, and come back all guns blazing.

Memphis Depay – £21.25m

Depay just hasn’t settled in at Old Trafford but his value remains strong.

Whether or not he ever reaches his potential in Manchester remains to be seen – there are a lot of doubts – but with still a long time to go in his career it is possible.

It’s also possible, then, that another club would gamble on him and that is why his value must be what it is .

Morgan Schneiderlin – £23.8m

The midfielder joined from Southampton under Louis van Gaal and despite initially doing fairly well, he has since fallen well down the pecking order.

Despite this, his value seems to still be fairly competitive but that could be a problem if United want to shift him as many sides are not going to want to pay this kind of money for the Frenchman.
