The Manchester United fans aren’t too sure what to make of the start of their season under new manager Jose Mourinho.
The summer was filled with a lot of hope and optimism at the club after Louis van Gaal was replaced by the Portuguese boss, and players like Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic agreed to don the red jersey for this season.
Things started pretty brightly too.
Good wins against Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull left United right at the top of the league but then they bumped into Manchester City.
City were by far the better team as they beat their local rivals and United began to stutter with a 3-1 loss to Watford following that game up.
A 4-1 win over Leicester was a good way of getting things back on track but then the Red Devils drew at home to Stoke this weekend suggesting there’s still some improvement needed.

Wayne Rooney
This one is a bit obvious but it has to be said Rooney hasn’t been near the standards he sets himself nor those everyone expects him to reach.
He’s been operating in attacking midfield for United but hasn’t really excelled there and that’s led him to be dropped by Mourinho in recent weeks.
If he can find form he should get back in the side but it could be a while before he does so.
Anthony Martial
Martial was arguably United’s best player last season with a number of good performances in high-profile games.
This season, though, he looks a shadow of his former self and seems to be lacking confidence right now.
He needs to find it quickly because otherwise he could be on the bench a fair bit this season so his goal against Stoke could be a turning point.
Luke Shaw
Shaw started the season well enough at left-back and looked like he would really kick-on this season but of late he hasn’t been able to do so.
Two poor performances against Manchester City and Watford left his place in the side in doubt whilst some niggling injuries and an illness saw Daley Blind take his spot.
The England international will now have to work hard to get that place back.
