These 3 Newcastle United transfer valuations may surprise you

In many ways, Newcastle United represented perhaps the masters of the transfer market over the course of the summer.

Despite their relegation, no firesale truly ever caught alight on Tyneside, despite the hefty number of arrivals and departures in equal measure.

For the Geordies in the Transfer Tavern, the fact the club received around £25m for Georginio Wijanldum and about £30m for Moussa Sissoko went down a storm.

In the ever-changing world of valuations within English football, it’s fair to say the Magpies did pretty well on their initial investments for the pair.

Still, taking a look at Transfermarktsome of the North East locals have been shocked to see some of the valuations of their own players.

Clearly, it’s not wholly indicative of everything that goes into a buying player, though it has certainly raised some discussion.

With that in mind, here are THREE Newcastle United player valuations that’ll shock you.

Jamaal Lascelles – £3.40m

lascelles

Seemingly with every passing game, Jamaal Lascelles is gradually developing into a top class central defender, one capable of leading the time.

Despite raising eyebrows when he was initially appointed captain over the summer, the 22-year-old has come on leaps and bounds of late.

A natural leader, as well as a homegrown talent, the ex-Nottingham Forest can surely be considered far more expensive than a measly £3.4m.

Isaac Hayden – £1.70m

Isaac Hayden has barely put a foot wrong since moving to Newcastle United from Arsenal over the course of the summer.

A classy passer of the ball, the defensive midfielder recently made his debut for the England u21 side.

Surely, having signed a six-year deal upon his arrival, the 21-year-old is worth far more than £1.7m.

Ayoze Perez – £6.80m

Ayoze Perez continues to divide opinion at St. James’ Park, though there’s little doubt the 23-year-old is a promising talent.

Linked with a £15m to both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, his £6.8m valuation indicates a severe drop in his performances of late.
