Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have every right to be concerned after a rather disastrous run of performances.

The 0-0 home draw against Burnley last weekend highlight just how tough it will be for manager Jose Mourinho to restore the Red Devils back to their former glory.

It’s a process that isn’t going to happen overnight, just as when we saw Sir Alex Ferguson take the reins at Old Trafford for the first time.

While the Portuguese clearly won’t be in charge for as long, the club really need to afford him time.

Whilst this is more likely to be a loan move than a permanent transfer, it’s clear Anthony Martial’s future at United is coming increasingly under-fire.

Mourinho’s continued preference over Lingard, Rashford and Ibrahimovic in United’s front three means most of the Frenchman’s play-time has come from the bench this season.

This one might be a case of wanting more first-team football, rather than sitting on the bench most of the time.

And despite his call-up back into the senior fold, we’re tipping the German to make a speedy exit from Old Trafford this winter, after some frustrating and slightly unfair treatment at the hands of Jose Mourinho.

Schweinsteiger has lots to give still and would be an asset in many a team all-over the world.
