These 3 Serie A players must be signed by Klopp for Liverpool – Agreed?

With Jurgen Klopp now well into his first summer transfer window in charge of the Reds, fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that he will manage to bag some world class talent for the club this summer.

Whilst Klopp has typically favoured players of German origin, given his expertise in that field; rumours this summer are linking with a whole host of players from countries around the globe.

Italy is one area that Klopp could be looking at, most notably within the Italian first division; Serie A.

Whilst the league has lost its shine over recent years, it still serves as the base for a number of the world’s most exciting talents.

Rumours in the Tavern have linked the club with a number of these players, with Klopp seemingly keen to get them on board as soon as possible.

Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain has been the target of a number of top European clubs this summer.

The punters in the Transfer Tavern thought the deal was done last month, when the player’s agent was spotted with Jurgen Klopp; but nothing has come to that.

What we do know is how good Higuain is, having scored 71 Serie A goals in less than 3 years with Napoli.

Higuain has been prolific wherever he has been – and he is exactly what Liverpool need.

Rumours have recently been circulating in the Tavern that he might be about to sign a new deal with Napoli, but given that he is still away on international duty, it is hard to believe that it has been completed yet.

If Liverpool want him; they’re going to have to move fast; but what a coup it would be.

Mattea De Sciglio

De Sciglio

A story that has broken over the last few days surrounds the future of Liverpool’s left back spot, with Alberto Moreno critised heavily during the tail end of last season.

The Express is reporting that De Sciglio is being targeted by the Reds, given that he offers versatility and defensive prowess; something that Moreno lacks dearly.

With reports linking Moreno with the exit-door this summer, Liverpool would struggle to do better than this Italian full back.

Whilst he is typically a right full back, he is known to be more than comfortable playing on either side – so would fit in perfectly at Liverpool.

With The Express reporting that Milan are looking to sell; this one could work for all parties.

Piotr Zieliński

Zielinski

This Polish midfielder has been making waves in Italy over the last few years, and this has attracted the attention of a number of top European clubs, with Liverpool at the top of that list.

Typically an attacking midfielder, Piotr Zielinski can play across the front three, and offers both assists and goals.

In a Liverpool side that often failed to break down the final third last year, Zielenski would offer an alternative option in a side that lacked depth last year.
