The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been glued to Italy’s EURO 2016 fixtures this Summer as they try to work out whether Antonio Conte will return the team to the top of the Premier League.

The Italian boss has been one of the stars of the tournament. His tactical ability has been demonstrated throughout, the Azzurri outfoxed one of the tournament favourites Belgium in the groups before outwitting the Spanish team in the round of 16 with arguably one of the weakest incarnation of the side at an international tournament.

The signs then, are good for the Blues.

Conte is clearly a good coach with the ability to motivate and implement his tactics on to a side. You get the feeling too that he’s already got in mind the players he wants to sign and our landlord thinks this FOUR could have caught his eye at the tournament this summer…

Leonardo Bonucci

Bonucci has arguably been one of the defenders of the tournament.

The Italian has been exemplary at the back with his club mates, Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Gianluigi Buffon being the foundation for their country’s success so far.

Chelsea should move for Bonucci in to take over from John Terry as the main centre-half as well as transferring Conte’s tactics on to the pitch.

Dimitri Payet

Payet has shown he belongs on the top stage with his performances for France this Summer.

He’s got the ability to get out of the tightest of spaces with his trickery and has demonstrated the fact he can hit powerful shots with either foot.

It’s a testament to his progress with Hammers that he could now get in most sides around Europe and he’d certainly improve the West London giants going forward.

Antoine Griezmann

After a slow-ish start to the tournament Griezmann has shown off his talent in recent games demonstrating why he was so devastating last season in La Liga.

The Frenchman could have had a hat-trick against the Republic of Ireland in the round of 16 and it looks as though now he’ll be the key to France’s chances.

He’s already world class and would turn Chelsea back into title contenders.

Paul Pogba

The French midfielder is top drawer.

Pogba glides across the pitch and seems to see challenges come in before the opposition have even made them.

With a furiously fierce strike on him, the Frenchman has the physical frame to mix it with the toughest of midfields, making him an ideal fit for the Premier League.

He’s been a key driving force in France’s run so far and would be the first name on the team sheet at Chelsea if Conte managed to get him.
