These 5 Man United players will surely be axed by Jose Mourinho this summer – Agreed?

Jose Mourinho looks set to take over at Old Trafford and the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t believe it.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss has been out of a job since the end of last year, after seemingly losing the dressing room in his second stint at Stamford Bridge.

Whatever the reason was for him getting the sack was however, it appears this has not put Manchester United off of making him their next manager.

Rumours of the Portuguese taking over at Old Trafford have been rife for some time but they have, somewhat confusingly, gone up a gear since United’s FA Cup win on Saturday and now a change of manager seems imminent at the club.

Our United punters have grown weary of Louis Van Gaal’s playing philosophy that has seen his team score one of the lowest amounts in the division – something completely unheard of under Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Old Trafford faithful are desperate for the trophy laden years under the legendary Scot to return and clearly they, and now the board, feel Mourinho is the man to provide this.

Mourinho has a big task in hand, turning the club back into title challengers, but if anyone can, it surely could be him. T

here’s a lot for him to do but first some changes to the playing staff need to be made and our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern thinks these FIVE players will ace the axe under Jose Mourinho……

Marouane Fellaini

The gangly Belgian has never really shown why David Moyes brought him to the club from Everton, and has failed to replicate his sometimes unplayable form from his time with the Toffees.

He’s been employed in all kinds of different playing roles whilst at United, and unfortunately for him never really nailed down a place in any of them.

For just this reason at least, he’ll be looking for a new club this summer.

Juan Mata

It’s an unfortunate turn of events for the diminutive Spaniard.

Mata went from being Chelsea’s best player to an outcast under Mourinho before being shipped out to the North West.

At United he has been one of the most consistent performers, scoring crucial goals as recently as the equaliser in the FA Cup final but with a manager coming in who evidently doesn’t rate him, the former Valencia man will be once more looking to save his career elsewhere.

Michael Carrick

carrick

It’s widely acknowledged that Michael Carrick has begun to decline as a footballer at the highest level.

Never blessed with pace it was his passing and reading of the game that allowed the former Tottenham man to control the midfield, and the pace of a game.

Now that is waning Mourinho will want fresh legs and impetus in the engine room, and Carrick may find his playing time limited.

He could still do a job at a Premier League side but not Man United.

Marcos Rojo

Marcos Rojodd

Going forward Rojo is a decent enough player but his prime job as a full back is to defend. Unfortunately for the Argentine this is where he is sometimes left wanting and Mourinho will not stand for this.

His teams are always based on a solid defence and though United’s has been one of the best in the league this year, player for player it can still be improved.

It is this factor that will see Rojo on his way.

Adnan Januzaj

Januzaj was meant to be the next big thing at United, putting together a number of strong performances when he first broke on to the Premier League scene.

He has however failed to kick on and after a pretty disastrous loan spell at Dortmund earlier this year, the young winger finds himself in a precarious position at United.

Throw into the mix the fact that Mourinho has a genuine reluctance to bring in youth, the future looks bleak for someone who seemed to once have the world at his feet.
