The Red Devils title chase has faltered in recent weeks, however, Mourinho will be hoping to get things back on track as soon as possible by dipping his hand into the winter window and bringing in some fresh and much-needed blood to his side.

Ed Woodward will be fully aware of a list of priorities, should Mourinho have a primary one, while our punters inside the Tavern think signing a winger should be up there to start to balance the team out. Carlos Soler

The La Liga winger can play in an attacking midfield role as well as he can hug the touchline. With that versatility in mind, it could be a real key factor to help him secure the move to Old Trafford.

With Valencia impressing in La Liga at the moment, the Spanish youngster has been making a name for himself and could follow current United player Juan Mata into the Premier League.

Soler surely wouldn’t come cheap with a reported huge buyout clause may be a stumbling point in such a short window, but Mourinho will do everything he can to get his man.

Danny Rose

The Tottenham left-back has been linked to Old Trafford for the majority of this season but with the resurgence of both Luke Shaw and Ashley Young, it may be a fight for the first team spot.

With Mourinho not having cemented a player in the left-back position this season often rotating between the two. However, in general, United have struggled to replace former captain Patrice Evra since he left with a player that can take the fullback mantle on.

Joao Mario

The Inter Milan player is said to be unhappy this season, and with his performances not being to the level he set himself before the move to Serie A. Inter could potentially hold out for a swap deal that may include United’s out-of-favour and form midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a move that could prove beneficial to all.

Mario looked a decent option in the centre of the park as a possible replacement for the retiring Micheal Carrick, so the idea of bringing him in for a player out in the cold would be a popular one.
