Rangers travelled to Hibbernian last night with every hope of consolidating their lead at the top of the SPFL table, but they failed to take advantage of their dominance and eventually slumped to a 0-0 draw.
The onus was on Steven Gerrard’s side to take another step towards challenging Celtic’s supremacy in Scottish football by winning at Hibs last night, but the Hoops managed to move clear at the summit of the table with a 3-0 win over Motherwell at Celtic Park.
Rangers might well be kicking themselves this morning after missing a handful of opportunities to clinch all three points, and at least one refereeing decision will be weighing on their mind.
But, despite the disappointment of the result, there were a handful of positives for the supporters to take, including the performance of Ryan Jack.
Jack has been establishing himself in the heart of the Gers midfield following a stop-start opening to the campaign, and his performance against Hibs simply confirmed a growing feeling which has been building among the supporters in recent weeks: he will be an integral cog in the Rangers machine this season.
Indeed, his performance was simply one of many which have caught the eye recently, and the supporters were eager to heap praise on the 26-year-old for another standout showing.
And judging by the reaction from the supporters it seems that he was a unanimous choice for the man of the match award.
Here’s what the Rangers fans had to say about Jack’s performance last night…

Amazing performance. Ryan Jack is a Rolls Royce of a player who didnt make one single mistake. Coulibally was back to his best and with a little luck, things could have been different. Positive signs that Gerrard is now being listened to.

Now I’ve shaken off the absolute bewilderment at not winning that, we can finally put to bed any doubts about Ryan Jack being a quality footballer. Future Rangers captain.
