These two flops absolutely need to follow Danny Ings out of Liverpool if he leaves this month

Our Liverpool fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are brimming with confidence with how their team have been performing in recent months, and with the latest signing of Virgil Van Dijk, the Reds can only see good things happening in 2018.

While Liverpool started off the window early, our punters think there are still a lot more incomings and outgoings to come. With the Coutinho saga remaining to dominate headlines and many of the fringe players disgruntled at the lack of first-team action, the Anfield door may be used as more revolving than exit.

One player that needs to move on according to our bar staff is Danny Ings, as the striker has endured an injury-laden time while at the Reds much to the disappointment of Klopp. Following his move from Burnley, big things were expected of him and he looked to really push on.

Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned and a move out of Liverpool may be the answer, our landlord takes a look at two other players that could follow Ings…

Lazar Markovic

The Serbian winger arrived at Anfield with a big reputation, looking to set the Premier League alight though it’s not exactly how it panned out and a loan move to Hull City last season saw him find the level he’d promised to reach earlier in his career. In fact, the former Benfica man has been yet another Brendan Rodgers flop.

Not getting games and barely warming the bench, the 22-year-old can still reinvent his time in football with a move elsewhere.

Klopp seems to not have him as part of his plans, though surely the Serbia star could command a fairly healthy transfer fee.

Jon Flanagan

The right-back enjoyed a successful loan spell at Burnley and after the local lad returned to his boyhood club he’s barely had a look in. Despite how bad Liverpool’s defence was at the start of the season, he has never really featured in Klopp’s plans. A loan spell at Burnley last season didn’t come to much and the England international looks a real shadow of his former self.

With the latest news breaking of Flanagan’s personal life, it seems a move away with a fresh start may the best thing all around.
