Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Pochettino can start to get his team going upwardly in the league in the second half of the season.

The Argentine boss will be looking to reinforce his squad in the winter to make a late surge into the top four. One of his regular starters over the past four years, Mousa Dembele is looking to gain first-team minutes elsewhere after falling down the pecking order at the club.

Following an ankle injury earlier in the season, Dembele has now found himself a bit part player on his return. Our regulars seem to think if Dembele leaves, it will open the door for a couple of others to follow in his footsteps.

Pochettino needs to add some fresh faces to his squad and ridding himself of some deadwood, despite some successful years in recent seasons many of the punters in here believe he needs to start becoming a little more ruthless if he is to take Spurs to the next level.

Having said that, our landlord takes a look at two players that could follow Dembele out of the door…

Michel Vorm

The former Swansea goalkeeper has fallen right down the pecking order in recent times, and the 34-year-old may consider moving elsewhere in a bid to get some minutes under his belt as he enters the twilight of his career.

It’s going to be hard to dislodge Lloris and with another two keepers fighting it out, a move away for the experienced shot-stopper may be the most logical of moves. He’s certainly a good ‘keeper, though getting past the aforementioned Lloris is a difficult task for anyone.

Georges-Kévin Nkoudou

A summer deadline day signing back in 2016, the former Marseille man hasn’t set the Tottenham left wing alight. With only a handful of games to his name this term, it’s going to be hard for the young midfielder to impress Pochettino enough to figure in his first team mind on a regular basis.

A move back to France may be a smart move for Nkoudou if he’s not to be a part of the Tottenham Hotspur future.
