“They deserve everything they got” - Liverpool heroes react to shock result

Transfer Tavern patrons of all clubs and creeds have come together today to celebrate one of the greatest nights in the history of European football.

In case you were unfortunate enough to miss it, Barcelona staged an incredible comeback at the Nou Camp last night, turning around a four-goal deficit against PSG just in time to secure an incredible 6-5 win on aggregate.

Barcelona were three goals up before the hour mark but an Edinson Cavani strike killed their momentum, until the Catalans came back to life with three goals in the final few minutes – the last being courtesy of Sergi Roberto with practically the last kick of the game.

Needless to say, Barcelona’s incredible result – and the sublime performance accompanying it – sent shockwaves throughout the footballing world last night and practically anybody with a Twitter account felt compelled to share their feelings on social media.

That includes a batch of former Liverpool stars, ranging from Didi Hamann to Ryan Babel…

Unfortunately, however, a certain Anfield icon missed one of the greatest games in living memory; Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was instead at the Etihad Stadium, watching Manchester City’s scoreless draw with Stoke. Gutting.
