The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their rumoured away kit for next season from Footy Headlines. It’s fair to say this is a strip for the ages as Newcastle fans have been flocking to gawk at it and are all awaiting its release. The design is inspired by the club’s 1995/96 away kit with dark blue and red hoops.

If the Magpies can recreate their legendary 1995/96 season in the kit inspired by it then there’ll be no complaints from our local Toon. Kevin Keegan’s side came second in the Premier League that season, being pipped to the post by Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United. Although it’s unlikely that Newcastle could achieve a 2nd place finish in the Premier League’s current climate, it won’t stop the fans from dreaming.
This time of year sees fans of all clubs getting excited and preparing for their eventually new kits for the following season, although Newcastle United still four remaining games as they target an 8th place finish to the current campaign. The club saw a four-game winning run brought to an end on Monday night by Everton at Goodison Park, but the club are set for a top-half finish after their incredible at this late stage of the season.
