Liverpool are one the right track this season under Jurgen Klopp and look to be on their way to a decent season, with summer signing Mo Salah leading the way with plenty of goals.
A returning Sadio Mane is also a boost to Klopp and his squad, and while they might be out of the title race, there’s every chance the Reds can capture some silverware this term with a bit of luck along the way.
Our landlord here at the Tavern has been scouring the market of late looking for potential January signings, and he thinks he’s found a few players who could suit Liverpool’s needs in the winter window, especially in the crucial midfield areas.
One certain player who’s been in superb form in the Premier League for a number of seasons now is current Bournemouth star Harry Arter, who has developed into one of the best central midfield players in the Premier League under enigmatic young manager Eddie Howe.
Arter might not be the most obvious or glamorous signing, but he does everything a good midfield player needs to do to a good level. His workrate is second to none, and his passing ability and lung bursting runs forward make him one of the Cherries’ key performers.
Liverpool could well do with someone like Arter in their ranks, and, while Bournemouth won’t want to lose him, a big bid could tempt the Irish midfielder to Anfield, and he would surely relish the chance of becoming one of the star midfielders for a club like Liverpool and performing in front of the Anfield crowd on a weekly basis.
Reds fans, what do you make of Arte? Good signing? Let us know!
