Last night two of the Premier League’s biggest teams, Liverpool and Manchester City, met in an International Champions Cup pre-season friendly fixture. Liverpool beat their Manchester rivals 2-1 but in the press conference after there was some confusion as Jurgen Klopp gatecrashed City manager Pep Guardiola’s time in front of the press.

Leroy Sane was back to his magnificent best last night, despite having the summer off, when he opened the scoring for Manchester City in the second half. However, Mo Salah came off the bench and took just two touches and 52 seconds to find the net before a last-gasp Sadio Mane penalty put Guardiola’s side to the sword. The game was well contested and both sides mixed youth, fringe players and first-teamers for the occasion.
After the game, when Klopp was arriving for his press conference their appeared to be some confusion as Guardiola was already facing the media. Pep was well-mannered in his approach though, shaking Klopp’s hand and welcoming him into the room before leaving, with Klopp taking the Premier League winning manager’s chair the process, before shouting a loud “bye” at his rival gaffer. The moment was a funny one for Liverpool fans who truly believe that Klopp can deliver the title this season.

Can’t wait for the ‘bye’ from Jürgen to be retweeted when we beat them next

The moment between the gaffers was genuine and the Liverpool fans couldn’t love their eccentric gaffer anymore than they already do for his entertaining nature.
