Mourinho has already started his Manchester United overhaul bringing in the likes of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and the mighty Zlatan Ibrahimovic .
The Red Devils are already looking in better shape, adding a new spine to the team.
Recruiting in defence, midfield and attack, not to mention a certain Juventus superstar who is expected to head to Old Trafford this summer.
Despite an FA Cup victory last season, Manchester United fans have not been content with neither the performances or the results of the team since Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
Finishing outside the top 4 put the nail in the coffin for Louis Van Gaal, and now fans will be hoping Jose Mourinho is the man to put the Manchester club back on the map.
Judging by his purchases so far, fans and bookies alike are fancying United next season to lift the trophy, with some eyeing the Europa League as well.
Here is the Manchester United XI that could seal success in Europe and domestically next season……
Formation: 4-2-3-1
David De Gea (GK)
The Spanish shot stopper looked as though he was leaving for Real Madrid last summer, but due to complications remained at Old Trafford, and penned a new four year deal last September.
Earning the Red Devils an uncountable amount of points last season with his emphatic displays, and wondrous shot stopping you can be sure he will be a shoe in for the number 1 jersey next season.
Matteo Darmian (RB)
Making 39 appearances for The Red Devils last season, he will likely be in the starting 11 next season.
The right back help Van Gaal’s side to concede the joint least amount of goals in the league last season, with only Spurs able to match them.
Starting his career as a centre back Darmian is a versatile player who can use both feet.
His pace, stamina and tactical awareness are sure to be considerable assets to Mourinho next season.
Eric Bailly (CB)
Manchester United’s first signing of the summer, penning a four year contract back in June.
Although just 22, Bailly racked up 35 appearances for Villarreal last season, and is a serious contender for one of the centre back spots next season.
Winning the African Cup of Nations last year with Nigeria, the young defender has both international, as well as Europa League experience after reaching the semi-finals with Villareal, before being knocked out by Liverpool back in May.
Chris Smalling (CB)
You forget Chris Smalling is just 26, especially after some phenomenal performances last season, even grabbing himself a goal in both the FA cup and Europa League.
Despite crashing out with England in the European Championships this summer, it would seem very unlikely that he is not one of Mourinho’s first names on the team sheet next season.
After singing a new contract to keep him at the club until 2019, it is likely Smalling will continue to wear the famous red shirt for many years to come.
Luke Shaw (LB)
Almost a forgotten player by some United fans.
After making 60 appearances for Southampton, and chosen for the 2014 World Cup, Manchester United fans thought they had bagged one of England’s brightest talents for the 2014-15 season.
However, his first season did not plan out quite as expected with several injury issues plaguing him throughout the campaign, and things did not improve when Shaw suffered a double leg fracture in September last year.
After starting every game up to that point it was a real blow for the 20-year-old, but perhaps after so many set backs this will be his year to cement his place at left back, and make his mark in the famous red Manchester shirt.
Paul Pogba (CM)
Yet to be confirmed, Paul Pogba is expected to return to Manchester this summer for a club record fee of £100 million.
He left the Red Devils in 2013 after making just 3 appearances for the senior team, and left with harsh words from then manager Alex Ferguson who accused the Frenchman of being disrespectful.
Fast forward three years, and the player who left on free transfer could be returning for what is likely to be the biggest transfer this window.
Pogba has proved a point after some early questions arose at Euro 2016, putting in some assured displays, and impressing fans of all nationalities.
If Pogba does make the move, he will be the heart and soul of that midfield next season, projecting Manchester United towards Europa and Premier League glory for sure.
Bastian Schweinsteiger (CM)
Highly tempted to go with Morgan Schneiderlin, I have chosen German captain Bastian Schweinsteiger.
With Pogba still young, it seems important to have an experienced head within this young Manchester United team, and boy does Schweinsteiger have some experience.
A World Cup winner, Champions League winner, you name it, he’s done it.
Despite some underwhelming performances last season, if the 31-year-old gets over his injury niggles, he could be a formidable player for the Red Devils next season, and would provide the perfect mentor to Paul Pogba.
Anthony Martial (RM/RW)
Already a fan favourite at Old Trafford after his £36 million move from Monaco last summer.
The 20- year-old has already shown what he can do, with electrifying performances showing he is not just a player for the future, but for right now!
With good technical ability as well as pace, under Jose Mourinho you would expect the Frenchman to excel next season, even more so if his national team mate Pogba is feeding him!
Henrikh Mkhitaryan (CAM)
Another Manchester new boy, Mkhitaryan will be the first Armenian to play in the Premier League when he makes his debut this August.
Voted Bundesliga player of the season, finishing with 15 assists to his name, he is a sure thing to start in the opening fixture.
He beats Wayne Rooney into the starting eleven for me. I am not sure if I am the only one, but I am done with Wayne Rooney.
After years of moving him back and fourth around the pitch to try and regain even a hint of the player we once knew.
Nearing 31, he is no longer capable of performing like he once could, and his performance against Iceland for England only further confirmed this, where he was unable to step up in the big games when his team needed him most.
Marcus Rashford (LM/LW)
Probably the most impressive youngster to burst on to the scene last year, Rashford bagged himself 5 goals last season.
At just 18 years old, he was the one glimmer of hope that can be taken away from England at Euro 2016.
Lightening quick, technically able, with a great finish, he looks like the full package.
Despite Mourinho’s common criticism regarding youngsters, I fully expect to see him receive more game time next season, and cement his place into United’s starting 11.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (ST)
There is not many players who transfer to Manchester United at the age of 34, but Zlatan is a whole different story.
Glory follows Zlatan wherever he goes. Italy, Spain, France, you name it, he’s done it. A sensational scoring record, with over 390 goals in 677 club appearances.
Despite his age, I expect Ibra to start nearly every game next season. If you were in any doubt, the Swede has already broke a record with The Red Devils before even kicking a ball, breaking all previous power records during his medical.
Zlatan equals success, it’s that simple.
With him in the side, surrounded by such young talent, United will be fully expected to compete for both the Europa and Premier League titles next season.
