According to Spanish website AS, Leeds are linked with Alavés winger Ibai Gómez.

The Spaniard has been instrumental for La Liga high-flyers so far this season, helping the team from north Spain sit in second place in the league, only one point behind giants Barcelona.

This is a move that would see him team up with Marcelo Bielsa again, after their time at Athletico Bilbao, where they both enjoyed a lot of success, as the Argentinian turned the team into a serious force in Spain.

The 28-year-old could experience the same levels of success with the manager again at Elland Road, and would further enhance the team's chances of promotion this season.

Although he has been injured for a portion of this season, Leeds' winger Pablo Hernández has been hugely impressive for The Whites. On the other hand, his teammate on the other flank Ezgjan Alioski has been less convincing to the Leeds faithful. Gómez would be a serious improvement to the Madedonian winger, and would make The Peacock's attack truly lethal in the Championship with Kemar Roofe leading the line.

If Leeds are not already favourites to win the Championship this season, they surely would be with the arrival of the Spaniard. Furthermore, with the intense style of football that Bielsa demands from his players on the pitch and training paddock, extra players in the squad will only help. This will allow the manager to rotate his players, especially seeing as he already has one of the smallest squads in the league already. A few more high-quality players to chose from will only make the Spaniard's job easier.
