The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Jose Mourinho’s comments about his team selection for Bournemouth. The Portuguese tactician has claimed that there are places up for grabs in his starting eleven against Spurs on Saturday and that if anyone plays really well against Bournemouth then they will go into the FA Cup team. The United fans propping our bar up are still getting over their side’s embarrassing home defeat to West Brom on Sunday. Losing to the Premier League’s bottom club at home is always tough to take, although it becomes much tougher when it gifts the Premier League trophy to your city rivals without them even playing. That, though, is what the Red Devils have had to deal with this week and whilst they have a chance to bounce back against Bournemouth tomorrow, the fans will still be hurting from the weekend.
The team selection for tomorrow’s game has now become a talking point for the fans. Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford all missed out on a place in Mourinho’s starting eleven against West Brom, despite all making appearances off the bench. It seems that tomorrow though, the trio might be thrown a chance in the starting eleven as they look to impress their way into an FA Cup semi-final. Tomorrow’s game for United will be all about momentum as they hope to hit the ground running on Saturday when they travel to Wembley to take on Tottenham Hotspur with a spot in a major final up for grabs.
