Rangers have been battling to get back to the same level as Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season but it’s not been plain sailing in the slightest and that’s unlikely to change for new chief Pedro Caixinha between now and the last whistle of the campaign.

Their fans here in the Transfer Tavern have watched in disbelief at times as the squad struggles to find results in big games and only after last week’s thrashing of Hamilton and the following Celtic draw have things looked solid once again.

But in a season where second place might be out of reach, things certainly need to improve going forward, so it’s massively important that Caixinha knows where he wants to take the squad long-term.

Gers punters here in the Tavern want to see good results and European football once again, so getting the right players in is of vital importance moving forward, as is offloading those that are no longer needed.

So with that in mind, here are TWO Rangers stars whose careers at the club are at a real crossroad…

Jon Toral

Arsenal loanee Jon Toral is currently spending time at Rangers having made a move from the Gunners in January.

He’s a talented player who has done well despite struggling to get to full fitness when he first arrived at the club. But as he gets older, his chances of breaking into the Arsenal team look slimmer and slimmer and he needs to make a decision about his long-term future in football.

Does he return to the Emirates to fight for his place in the side? Or instead, should he try to force a permanent move through to Gers if it can be arranged? It’s going to be a big summer for the Spaniard and the punters here in the Tavern want him to stick around.

Kenny Miller

Despite being 37-years-old, Kenny Miller continues to lead the line at Ibrox but not to the level we’ve seen in seasons past.

He’s bagged a healthy amount of goals this campaign but is down on what we’ve seen over the past few years and as he gets older, he might be considering moving on, retiring or even going into management.

All of the above appear to strike fear into Rangers fans’ hearts here in the Tavern, with most wanting to see their star striker stay. Alas, he’ll have a big decision to make about his future this summer too.
