Time to sack Klopp? 2 reasons why it would make sense for Liverpool to axe Klopp

Having watched their side pulled apart by a Leicester City side in no sort of form last night, the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are asking some serious about life under Jurgen Klopp.

Popular as he is, the Reds have never proved wholly convincing for an extended period under his watch and the fact they’ve gone from title challengers to outside bets for merely a top four finish has served as a huge source of disappointment for our locals.

Klopp’s points tally isn’t that much different to that of Brendan Rodgers’ over the same amount of time, so the notion the German has improved his side beyond belief is almost entirely wrong. With that in mind, some of them are even discussing the idea of life without the former Borussia Dortmund coach going forward.

Considering all of this, here are TWO reasons why it would make sense for Liverpool to axe Klopp.

No improvement

In fact, Brendan Rodgers gained more points from his first 54 PL games as Klopp has, despite big money spent over the course of the summer. Much was made about the importance of getting a pre-season under Klopp to truly improve, so he could mark his style of play on his squad.

However, that may have bought him some time last season, though the demanding effects of which are reportedly having a negative effect on the players.

One glaring issue

Aside from a few games here and there, scoring goals was never really a problem under Brendan Rodgers, even without Luis Suarez. So, as scintillating as Liverpool have looked at times under Klopp going forward, the main issue he should have fixed by now is their defence.

They’ve been as leaky as ever and Klopp has had well over a year to work with his backline, with little to no improvement.
