The Transfer Tavern’s Crystal Palace patrons are raising their pints of ale in honour of chairman Steve Parish, who has poured cold water on rumours claiming Wilfried Zaha will move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Ivory Coast international has been on fire this season despite the Eagles’ fight to stave off relegation, bagging five goals and six assists in 24 Premier League appearances whilst averaging the third-most dribbles per match of any player in the division – a whopping four.
Earlier this week, Mirror Football revealed that long-term admirers Tottenham Hotspur, who moved for Zaha last summer, are ‘confident’ of finally landing the £30million-rated wide-man at the end of the campaign.
But when quizzed on social media about rumours of the two London clubs already agreeing a fee for the 24-year-old, Palace chairman and part-owner Steve Parish replied by describing them as quite simply as ‘Tosh’.

Whether Palace can actually hold onto Zaha, however, remains open to debate. Relegation will make it almost impossible, whilst the wide-man’s form this season suggests he could be plying his trade higher up the Premier League table.
Earlier this month, Mirror Football also reported on interest from Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig, although punters in the Tavern reckon Zaha is far better suited to the Premier League.
