Tottenham Hotspur have been trying for the last couple of years to find a suitable understudy to Harry Kane. They may have come up short with Vincent Janssen and done a little bit better with Fernando Llorente, but the fans are adamant that Davie Selke would be the worst of the lot as the German has been linked with a move by Fussball Transfers.

Selke is a man that your average Tottenham fan won’t have heard of, and that’s for a good reason. The 23-year-old has made 15 Bundesliga appearances this season, yet he’s found the net just once. That is not the record of someone who’s being linked to a top-six Premier League club, and the chances are he’d be a downgrade on the likes of Llorente and Janssen, who have been subpar in North London.
At the age of just 23, the striker has room to improve. However, when Janssen joined the club he was fresh off the back of a 27-goal season and at the age of just 22 there was a lot of positivity surrounding the striker. With Selke, it looks like he’d be up against it before he even steps on the pitch, and that’s something the Lilywhites want to avoid as they only want to bring someone in if they desperately need a new face.

The Lilywhites hate the idea of bringing in the goal-shy and inexperienced Selke and will hope that this rumour can disappear as quickly as it came up.
