Plenty of Tottenham fans believe referee Mike Dean got a key decision wrong during their side’s 2-0 victory against Manchester City on Sunday.
City’s Raheem Sterling was involved in controversy as he went in for a challenge on his England teammate Dele Alli in the first half, catching him on the ankle with his studs. Dean only issued a yellow card, with clarification from a VAR check which stood by the referee’s decision.
It caused a mass debate on social media as a consensus could not be made as to whether the Citizens star should have been given his marching orders. It would not matter in the end as Jose Mourinho’s side beat the reigning champions, with goals from debutant Steven Bergwijn and Heung-min Son. These supporters believe the 25-year-old should have seen red and made their feelings clear.
