Some Spurs fans posted humorous messages on Twitter after Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela took on 100 kids in a match against an AIA 100 in Shanghai. Indeed, the England captain took to Twitter to poke fun about the event.
Difficult place to go when they stick so many behind the ball! #SpursTour2019 https://t.co/aq8ycjx0Oj
— Harry Kane (@HKane) July 24, 2019
The match consisted of the three Tottenham stars playing 100 children aged between six and ten, with the game ending 1-1 after Alli scored an equaliser from the penalty spot.
The Lilywhites kicked off their Asian tour with a 3-2 victory over Juventus which included an incredible goal from Kane as he lobbed Wojciech Szczęsny from the half-way line in the third minute of added time.
However, Tottenham did go on to lose to Manchester United in their second and final game of the tour as Lucas Moura’s equaliser following Anthony Martial’s early goal was cancelled out by Angel Gomes late winner.
It was a bit of light-hearted entertainment to take several Spurs fans minds off the Giovani Lo Celso transfer saga which has rumbled on for a number of weeks and is still not done.
Here is just some of the reaction:

Just glad Eric Dier didn’t play against those kids. He’d take it too seriously and go flying into tackles against them.

It’s only preseason. Shouldn’t read too much into the result.
