Christian Eriksen was the man of the moment yesterday evening. Whilst Moussa Sissoko is receiving a lot of hard-earned praise for the way he ran the game, it was the Danish midfielder’s goal that gave The Lilywhites the crucial victory and the supporters have been lauding him for it.

Eriksen has spent a lot of this season either out injured or nowhere near his best and this week has seen him remedy that. The 26-year-old creative force of nature was sublime as he made setup seven goalscoring opportunities against Chelsea, more than any other player in a single Premier League game this season, before he turned up tonight to stroke home the all-important goal, just minutes after he came off the bench.
In truth, there were a lot of supporters who weren’t happy to see that Eriksen had been left out for tonight, especially given the size of the game and what was at stake, but it looks like Mauricio Pochettino has played his cards to perfection. Not only did Eriksen boss Chelsea, but he got 70 minutes rest yesterday before coming on against tired legs and making the difference. Now, with Arsenal on Sunday, it looks like Eriksen will be fresh for the full 90 and will be able to go out there and shine at The Emirates.
