Last night saw Tottenham put out a starting eleven that didn’t feature either Harry Kane of Christian for the first time since March 2014. The fans were pleased with Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to rest his stars considering they face Barcelona in two days time, yet when Poch opted to bring Kane on for the last 15 minutes, the fans couldn’t understand why.

It’s very rare that you’ll see Tottenham fans complaining when Harry Kane is introduced to the action, but yesterday was one of those days. The Lilywhites saw no reason to bring on their star man as the game was already won at 2-0 by that point. If the 25-year-old had been injured in the dying minutes of the game the fans would have been livid at Pochettino, and rightly so considering how needless the change was.
Instead of Kane, Poch could have looked to bring on Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, who likely won’t even travel to Barcelona on Tuesday, or Danny Rose and the fans would have much preferred to see one of those two. Instead, though, he looked to his star man and after bringing Eriksen off of the bench just minutes before, the Lilywhites were at a loss as to why they would risk their two biggest stars in a game that was already won.

The fans were far from happy to see Kane risked last night and will just be thankful that he wasn’t injured in his short time on the pitch.
