Tottenham fans on Twitter desperate for Gazzaniga masterclass against Barcelona

Tottenham have spectacularly returned to form this week and after losing three games on the spin against Watford, Inter Milan and Liverpool they have now won their last three against Brighton, Watford and Huddersfield. Next up, though, is a much harder test as Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona travel to Wembley for their Champions League group stage clash.

In the absence of both Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm, Paulo Gazzaniga has really stepped up to the plate and the Lilywhites are desperate for him to start against their Catalonian opposition on Wednesday. A win over Barcelona would be a great way to really kick off their Champions League campaign and when a loss could see them left behind by both Barca and Inter Milan, making sure that they get a result in two days time will be crucial.

Gazzaniga is likely to be the one starting the clash as Lloris continues to return from injury, however, with the Argentine shot-stopper up against his countryman, Lionel Messi, he’ll have to be on his best form to try and replicate the clean sheet that he managed against Huddersfield on Saturday. The fans will be eager to see Mauricio Pochettino’s side do what they did last year when they beat Real Madrid at Wembley but it’s never going to be easy, although with Gazzaniga in the net, the fans are more confident than ever.
