Football is a cut-throat business. More often than not, one mistake can be all it takes to see a manager sacked, a player binned or a fan-base lose their pride. However, after Kyle Walker-Peters made the biggest mistake of his career last night, he got back up and performed, making a heroic goal-saving block in the second half as the Lilywhites fought back to draw 1-1 from 1-0 down.

Much like what has been with the likes of Harry Winks and Harry Kane, Tottenham fans have a special bond with those that come through the ranks at their club and Kyle Walker-Peters is no different. The 21-year-old is one who the supporters are desperate to see succeed and after he shone yesterday after his error, the on-looking Tottenham fans were brimming with pride as he managed to haul himself back up after being knocked down.
In truth, there aren’t many defenders that would have been able to cope with Ousmane Dembele’s pace, power and precision as he cut through Spurs to grab a huge early goal. Whilst a lot of youngsters would have let the error eat them up inside, Walker-Peters didn’t. Instead, he fought back and stuck to his guns, looking good on the ball, making himself an option going forward and staying firm at the back, and when he made a massive goal-saving block when Philippe Coutinho looked destined to double Barcelona’s lead.
