Yesterday was a really good day for Tottenham. The Lilywhites absolutely smashed Chelsea, inflicting Maurizio Sarri with his first defeat since taking over at Stamford Bridge. In truth, there’s not much the Italian could have differently as his side’s kamikaze defending left them little chance of picking up a result, and when you face an in-form Christian Eriksen you have to be at your best.

When Eriksen is on form, Tottenham win games. Chelsea found that out last season when the Danish maestro whipped an effort past Willy Caballero from 30 yards, and this season, at Wembley, the Blues once again found out just what Tottenham’s midfield man can do when he created an incredible seven chances during Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s 3-1 win, and he laid on the first two goals for Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
As previously mentioned, there was some horror defending from Chelsea during the Wembley clash yesterday, but that shouldn’t take anything away the performance of Tottenham, who showed exactly why they should be considered as title contenders alongside Liverpool and Manchester City, especially seeing as they now sit just three points behind The Reds and five behind the Citizens.
