Marcus Edwards could be set to leave Tottenham for good this summer as the European transfer window remains open.

The news of Edwards’ departure has come from TuttoUdinese (relayed by Alasdair Gold of Football.London) and whilst the fans may have had high hopes for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder who was once compared to Lionel Messi by his manager, the responses from the fans have been very mixed, as you will see below.
Some of them believe that the player is one who should have made more of himself and his talent, whilst others have been cynical of the midfield man for the way his career in North London has failed to take off, with the Lilywhites now growing closer to offloading the player.
You can read the Lilywhites’ thoughts on Edwards here:
Shame a kid with talent is not for poch but a donkey who ‘works hard’ like skipp is kept on and even given chances(lucky not to cost us v city)

Just a new balotelli. All the talent in the world and will no doubt have moments of brilliance, but lacks the work ethic to reality dominate consistently.

But…..the new Messi! Etc

Jeez – remember the fuss the club made to get him to sign a professional contract. Will be interesting to see how he progresses from here

Huge shame we couldn’t make it work with him. Hope we don’t live to regret it but clearly something isn’t right.

This boy has achieved nothing, I don’t understand why he gets so much attention. Sell him with a big buy on clause

The Lilywhites, as you can see, have mixed feelings over Marcus Edwards and it soon may be up to the player to show what he’s got in Serie A.
