Last night was an all round great night for Tottenham fans. After dropping to 5th on Sunday, it only took them until Wednesday to regain their 3rd place spot after beating Southampton 3-1 as both Chelsea and Arsenal drew. However, as Spurs were 3-0 up with 20 minutes on the clock, the Lilywhites couldn’t work out why Mauricio Pochettino wasn’t prepared to hook Harry Kane.

Pochettino has been known for infuriating the supporters with his substitutions, be it leaving them too late for fresh legs to make an impact, failing to use his full supplement of three changes or bringing on the wrong players, he’s come in for criticism. Last night was just another one of those, as his reluctance to give his star man a break could easily have seen Kane end up crocked, something that would devastate the club.
The last two seasons have seen Kane miss a chunk of action with injury and that is something that the supporters will be desperate to avoid this season. The Lilywhites have a great opportunity to win silverware this season and losing their main goal threat would severely hamper those chances. That’s exactly why the fans are desperate to see Kane get a break here and there, be it dropping him for their upcoming League Cup clash in a couple of weeks or hooking him when games are won, the supporters want to do everything to keep their man fresh.

Loads of Tottenham fans want to see Kane stay fit and sharp, so they’re never going to be pleased when Pochettino leaves him on at 3-0 when games are already won.
