Tottenham Hotspur bounced back from three consecutive 2-1 losses with a 2-1 win of their own yesterday at The Amex Stadium as they put Brighton to the sword and picked up a very important three points. The out-of-form Michel Vorm picked up an injury and was dropped for the clash, leaving third choice ‘keeper Paulo Gazzaniga between the sticks.

As far as the Spurs fans are concerned, Vorm hardly invokes confidence in them or those in front of him and Spurs looked like a different team with Gazzaniga between the sticks. The Argentine made his first appearance for the club since he featured in the Lilywhites 1-0 win at Wembley over Crystal Palace last November and now a lot of fans are calling for him to be named as the number two goalkeeper ahead of Vorm.
It’s not hard to blame the Spurs fans for not wanting to see Vorm turn out. The Dutchman looked shakey and low on confidence as he flapped at a corner and failed to hold a tame shot against Liverpool, both of which led to The Reds goals. Then there’s his lack of good distribution which has a lot of Tottenham fans wondering why their Argentine third choice is just that, a third choice. Until Hugo Lloris is back the fans will be keen to see more of Gazzaniga and believe it’s no coincidence that Vorm was dropped and they finally won.

The Spurs fans loved seeing Gazzaniga and will be keen to see him again and again until Lloris is back and ready to start.
