Tottenham supporters have been reasonably satisfied in recent times after seeing their side record a second successive Premier League victory on Wednesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their encounter with Watford at Wembley earlier this week off the back of exits in both domestic cup competitions, having lost out to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and then Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. Yet the North Londoners returned to winning ways in beating Javi Gracia’s Hornets 2-1 in the Premier League on Wednesday, with goals from Son Heung-min and Fernando Llorente seeing the hosts coming from behind to seal an 18th league success of the campaign.
Thus, there have been plenty of happy Tottenham fans up and down the country in recent times, although several have taken to Twitter recently to vent their frustration at their club missing out on Youri Tielemans in January, who made the move to Leicester City on Deadline Day.
The 21-year-old had been playing his football at French heavyweights Monaco following his move to the Stade Louis II from Anderlecht back in 2017, and went on to appear 65 times for the club over the last 18 months prior to his move to the King Power Stadium on Thursday.
And with five goals in 20 Ligue 1 games for Monaco this term, the midfielder appears to be quite the coup for Claude Puel’s men as they seek to climb the Premier League table, yet the young Belgium international does appear to be another Spurs target that has fallen by the wayside.
The Daily Telegraph reported earlier this week that the North Londoners were also interested in Tielemans as Pochettino sought improvements to his midfield department, only for the Foxes to indeed strike a deal to leave Spurs enduring another transfer window without an incoming.
And seeing the £16.2 million-rated sensation (as per Transfermarkt) make the move to Leicester has prompted much disappointment among several Tottenham supporters on Twitter…
