This is not a drill, Tottenham fans, but you have actually lodged a bid for a footballer, according to the BBC. The Lilywhites have apparently lodged a £53 million bid for Real Betis’ midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, and what a signing he would be in North London, as Mauricio Pochetino is desperate for a new man in the middle of the park.

The Argentine international has been one of the best players in La Liga this season, and certainly Betis’ most impressive performer. At the age of 23-years-old, Lo Celso is one of those who can do it all. From both the #10 role and as an #8 he’s bagged himself nine goals and five assists and has impressed all of those who have laid eyes upon him this season, leading to the interest from Tottenham.
At times this season the Lilywhites have struggled in midfield. Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have been the club’s go-to attacking midfielders, yet deeper in the double-pivot that Mauricio Pochettino prefers to deploy there have been selection issues as injuries have struck them down for a lot of the season. That’s where Lo Celso would come in, and his talents would make him a superb option in North London.
