Tottenham fans take to Twitter to laud Davinson Sanchez after first Spurs’ goal

Tottenham fans were in great voice yesterday at Wembley as their side took to the pitch to brush away Leicester City in the Premier League 3-1. The Lilywhites may not have been the better side throughout the entire game, but their finishing was sharp when it needed to be, including from Davinson Sanchez, who bagged his first ever Spurs goal.

The Colombian centre-half had it all on show yesterday. He was a rock defensively and made himself a threat going forwards. The Foxes may have been poor in front of goal at the national stadium, but when playing against a defensive pairing of Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen it was always going to be hard for Claude Puel’s side to find a way through.

Whilst the defensive work was good, what yesterday will be remembered for was the milestone that Sanchez brought up for himself. When he pulled on that #6 shirt and took to the pitch yesterday it was his 66th appearance for the club, so to say he was due his first goal is an understatement, and the Lilywhites loved cheering him on as he threw himself at the ball to fire past Kasper Schmeichel.
