Speaking to Football.London, reliable Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold has stated that Spurs are ‘not completely done yet’ as 11pm looms – with the journalist going on to claim that Daniel Levy hasn’t given up on signing Serie A star Milan Skriniar or an alternative.
Skriniar, who has been at the centre of ongoing Spurs negotiations over the last few weeks, will be difficult to acquire from Inter Milan judging by a recent revelation courtesy of Sky Sports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Indeed, the Italian has issued his own update, claiming the Nerazzurri are very unlikely to offload their Slovakian colossus to Spurs this transfer window – coming as a potential blow to Levy and co.
This is because the two clubs still remain miles apart in terms of the 6 ft 2 star’s valuation and could be unlikely to come to an agreement as the deadline day clock ticks on.

However, to the contrary, correspondent Gold says that Spurs will try again for Skriniar in one final push to sign Jose Mourinho’s top target – all while stating that the club’s business so far has installed a ‘real belief‘ surrounding their transfer success and the upcoming season.
So far, Tottenham have enjoyed one of the best transfer windows in their entire history, completing deals for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty, Joe Hart, Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius and the return of superstar Gareth Bale on loan.
If Spurs could add Skriniar to their ranks, or a possible alternative like Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, it would certainly put the cherry on top of what has been a brilliant last fortnight for the club and Lilywhites supporters.
