According to an exclusive report by France Football, Tottenham Hotspur and chairman Daniel Levy have recently ‘entered the dance‘ to sign defender Sven Botman as the Lilywhites eye new additions – but rumours of Spurs already managing to convince the player’s representatives and Lille are unfounded.

Botman, who has impressed for the Ligue 1 side this season under manager Christophe Galtier, starting 25 league matches and six Europa League outings (WhoScored), is reportedly a wanted man across Europe.

Liverpool and Inter Milan are the other sides touted with serious interest in this report, and France Football now claim that Spurs have joined the race alongside them.
However, rumours of talks having already been held are not accurate despite the north Londoners being interested.

Levy and co’s interest in Botman doesn’t come as a surprise based off his recent accolades and the fact he has been tipped as an ideal heir to former fan favourite Jan Vertonghen.
Galtier described the 21-year-old as a ‘leader’ already despite his fairly young age (Ligue 1), meanwhile respected scout and former AS Monaco sporting director Tor Kristian-Karlsen told ESPN that he can ‘fill the gap’ left by Vertonghen.
It remains to be seen whether their interest becomes more advanced over the coming weeks ahead of a potentially interesting summer window, but Tottenham have now reportedly entered the fray.
